It has been quite a while since my last journal, and I think i am overdue for an update.
First things first: Back in january, I worked my ass off to create a portfolio to submit in february to Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena CA. I got an acceptance letter back in April, telling me that I was now enrolled in their Illustration course, starting in september! HOWEVER, I got a call from them soon after telling me that they loved my work, so they invited me to start an entire term early: at the beginning of may. This was only 4 weeks away from even receiving the acceptance letter, so I was a bit nervous, and wasn't sure if I should take up on the offer. Everything seemed to be moving so quickly. They knew I wasn't sure, so they offered me something to try and ease that hesitancy: a nice scholarship.
Long story short: I'm moving to Pasadena in two days, and I start school next week! I already quit my retail job, and it feels SO nice.
In other news, my Deus Ex painting got pretty popular amongst fans before it was even finished, and started zooming around the internet. I found out yesterday that Eidos Montreal (the company that created the game) discovered the unfinished painting and posted it for all of their fans to see. They said some really nice things, and I am extremely flattered. It really goes to show what adding pictures to your favorites and sharing them around the internet can do. So thanks to all of you that like my work, it means a lot to me.
Because I am starting school soon, I doubt I will update this journal as frequently as is deserved, so feel free to join me on facebook: [link]
I will update my gallery with homework assignments...IF they aren't too academic and boring. Thanks for reading this, and thanks for the support you all have continued to give me!
